Langtang valley is also called the valley of glaciers. Langtang is the closest place where you could get the massive snow capped mountains and beautiful glaciers. This valley is located only 19 miles north of Kathmandu. The whole valley is dominated by Mount Langtang Lirung (7246m) and offers pine forest, swift mountain streams, rugged rock and snow-capped peaks, grassy down and meadows.

Langtang National park which was established in 1976 and it is first Himalayan National Park. The forests in the region have pine and sub-alpine trees with wildlife like various kinds of birds, monkey, pika Tahr, Ghoral, serow, snow leopard among others. The Langtang Himalaya Trail passes over the 5308m Tilman pass from where you can see panoramic view of Tibet.
