Upper Mustang is known as a mystique valley and the last forbidden kingdom of Nepal. This region was restricted for outsiders until Nepal government announced the opening of the restricted areas in 1991.

Upper Mustang trek is a great adventure for those who wish to make a challenging trek along off beaten path, in the Trans Himalayan region. The high desert region of the Tibetan influence, Kaligandaki from the Tibetan border to Kagbeni is generally referred as Upper Mustang trek. . Lo Manthang is the capital of Mustang. Explore the thousands years of old monastery, caves, local tribes and scenic beauties of the different landscapes.

Make an adventure starting from world’s deepest gorge Kaligandaki region into world’s highest region of Lo Manthang valley. That passes through an almost tree less barren landscapes, high peaks, glaciers, alpine valleys, a steep rocky trail up and down hill and panoramic views of Nilgiri, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and several other peaks.

The thousands years of isolation has kept the culture, life style and heritage remain unchanged for centuries to this time. The houses in Mustang are mostly made from stone and baked mud bricks and Mustang is very similar to Tibetan village. The city wall and four storey palaces in Lo Manthang are some of the beautiful architectures of Mustang region.

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel [1300 m]

Day 02: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation

Day 03: Kathmandu to Pokhara [850 m], 6 hrs drive

Day 04: Fly to Jomsom & trek to Kagbeni [2,858 m], 3-4 hrs

Day 05: Kagbeni to chele [3050 m], 5-6 hrs

Day 06: Chele to Syanbochen [3475 m], 6-7 hrs

Day 07: Syanbochen to Ghami [3520 m], 5-6 hrs

Day 08: Ghami to Charang [3500 m], 4-5 hrs

Day 09: Charang to Lo-Mangthang (3700 m), 5-6 hrs

Day 10: Explore Lo-Mangthang

Day 11: Lo-Mangthang to Yara [3810 m], 6-7 hrs

Day 12: Rest Day at Yara visit Luri Gompa. Overnight at Lodge

Day 13: Trek from Yara to Tange (3320 m), 5-6 hours. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 14: Trek from Tange (3320 m) to Chhuksang (3310 m), 9-10 hours Overnight at Lodge

Day 15: Trek from Chhusang to Muktinath (3,710 m), 6-7 hours. Overnight at Lodge

Day 16: Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom (2720 m), 5 hours. Overnight at Lodge

Day 17: Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara (820 m) and rest time at Pokhara. Overnight at hotel

Day 18: Drive back Pokhara to Kathmandu (1340 m), 5-6 hours. Overnight at Hotel

Day 19: Final departure from Kathmandu.
