Makalu Base Camp Trekking route lies in the area of Makalu Barun National Park and Conservation Area in the heart of Eastern Nepal. This trek lies between Makalu Barun National Park in Solukhumbhu and Sankhuwasabha district.

The National Park is established in 1992. Makalu trekking is formerly a restricted trekking area, it extent five major ecological zones where the lush, tropical Arun Valley, dense forests or rhododendron and fir and alpine meadows can be found that lead to the mighty Barun glacier.

Mount Makalu (8463m) the world’s fifth highest peak; Chamlang Himal and Barun Valley are the major jewels of this Trekking area. Makalu trekking region and Everest trekking region are close to each other. Makalu Base Camp Trekking is a challenging and an outstanding and the trek up to Makalu Base Camp Trip is one of the most remote and unfrequented trekking areas of Trekking in Nepal.

Day 4: Trek from Khandbhari to Chichila (1980m)
Day 5: Trek from Chichila to Mudhe (1945m)
Day 6: Trek from Mudhe to Sedua (1500m)
Day 7: Trek from Sedua to Tashigaon (2100m)
Day 8: Trek from Tashigaon to Khongma (3500m)
Day 9: Trek from Khongma to Mumbak (3540m)
Day 10: Trek from Mumbak to Nehe Kharka (3700m)
Day 11: Trek from Nehe Kharka to Merek (4100m)
Day 12: Trek from Merek to Shershong (4630m)
Day 13: Trek from Shershong to Makalu Base Camp (4870m)
Day 14: Trek from Makalu Base Camp to Yangle Kharka (3557m)
Day 15: Trek from Yangla Kharka to Mumbak (3540m)
Day 16: Trek from Mumbak to Khongma (3500m)
Day 17: Trek from Khongma to Tashigaon (2100m)
Day 18: Trek from Tashigaon to Num (1560m)
Day 19: Trek from Num to Chichila (1980m)

Day 23: Rest day or shopping in Kathmandu.
